Gallery Talks art tour of the picture collection at Polesden Lacey in Great Bookham, Surrey.

The picture collection at Polesden Lacey was created by two remarkable individuals, William McEwan MP and his adopted daughter Margaret Greville DBE. Their taste in art and delight in Old Masters is strongly expressed at the luxurious country house which McEwan bought for Margaret as a venue for entertaining. The acquisitions they made reflect an interest in Dutch cabinet pictures, a penchant for British and French portraiture, an eye for landscape painting and an appreciation of portable gold ground Italian altarpieces.

The Gallery Talks group will be guided through the picture collection by Julie and the tour will be followed by lunch in the Stable Courtyard café and free time afterwards to enjoy the beautiful gardens.

If you would like to join the group for this tour, please contact me and I will send you further details.
